AAT: Evolving language by CT
Since moving I have had to change doctors surgery and the new one has a LCD touch-screen thingy in reception where you effectively sign in so they know you're there. Anyway, I signed in and then had reason to talk to the receptionist. Afterwards she asked me if I had "arrived myself". To which I...

Blog: fzzt pop. (SORN MOT stuff) by cat[_4_]
Well, I was going to post a big rant about sodding electrics. But now I'm feeling cleverer. The 'city light' in my headlight had gone pop, probably a death from my rectifier failure, it certainly was a nice black colour inside the glass. I wobbled my way to halfrauds to get a displacement. They...

[OT] DVD to something else. by Krusty
Can anyone recommend a freebie package that converts ripped DVDs (i.e. the .VOBs) to avi or mpeg without ****ing up the sound? I used to use DVD2SVCD but that won't play nicely on Vista 64, so I've tried AutoGK but the sound gradually goes out of synch with that. --...

OT: Seventies Jazz/Rock Fusion a-go-go by Champ[_2_]
Finally waving goodbye to any remaining thread of musical credibility I may have here, this arrived from Play.com yesterday: http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/3478687/Original-Album-Classics/Product.html "Original Album Classics (5CD) - The Mahavishnu Orchestra" - a five CD set of the Mahavishnu...

It hurts... by Sean Hamerton
http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f7/i-got-married-last-weekend-pics-877461/ Ginge or no, this is pretty horrific. I'd even say it's possibly NSFW. -- SeanH - '01 Fazer 600 in black | '97 GSX-R 750 SRAD.

Top Tip: #387 by Switters
If you spill Tabasco sauce on your fingers and don't wash them vigourously afterwards, do NOT wipe the corner of your eye with one of said fingers 30 minutes later. It smarts like a mother****er. That is all.

DVLA - thieving *******s by darsy
I sold my Tiger to Zymurgy at the end of June. Off he went with the "New Keeper's Supplement" and I sent off the "private sale" part of the V5 to the DVLA. A month or so after that, I got a "you haven't taxed your bike" letter from them, but I checked with Zymurgy and he'd sort it out, so i...

OT iPhone by Alan
If one was to walk into a shop and ask to buy a new iPhone for cash, or even order it online through O2 and take delivery of it how would one go about putting one's wife's PAYG vodafone sim in it and making it work. Would they sell me one? Her indoors would like one for chrissy, but does not...

Senile old farts who should be re-tested by FCS
Yep, just dropped left into a slightly more minor road from a slightly faster one only to nearly be knocked flying by some old duffer to whom the lighting-up laws seem not to apply by dint of he was only pulling the car out of his driveway to park by the road side and not off out for a drive....

Reigning MX1 motocross champion a BNP patriot by tg[_2_]
One of the country's top young motor racing stars, Billy Mackenzie, is a BNP member. The 24-year-old is the UK's reigning MX1 motocross champion, and was described on the list as an "activist" and a "high- profile sportsman". Mr Mackenzie rides for Honda and has represented Great Britain. He...

Horn On by Nige
The horn on the BMW is pathetic, so for £14 I got one of these fancy Stebel horns & crikey, it sounds like the QE2 about to leave dock, but it's very effective ;)

DSA 50 kM/h (emergency stop on test) debacle by FCS
Yeah, I got to hear about this one and was surprised how many other people had too. Here is a considered opinion which, as I have detected some knee-jerk abuse from one or two regulars here, you may like to compare with your own thinking, or "thinking" respectively.

Do you wear what looks like a paramedic hi-viz vest while riding a scabby old Pan with no panniers? Do you cross north over Tower Bridge in the morning? Do you have a slight tear in the left leg of your trousers? Yes? You do? Well LEARN TO ****ING FILTER YOU COMATOSE ****. That is all.

OT: How not to lever £20,000 out of me by Bear
So I thought about the contract extension, and thought maybe it was time to try a new car - well new to me, at any rate. I want something a) fairly fast, b) comfy and c) capable of soaking up more of the abysmal potholes around here than the Saab can manage. Oh and d) automatic - I do too many...
